OUR HISTORY

Our History, Our Family
Bill and Dorothy Tarpley first opened the doors to their new business, Tarpley Truck and Trailer, in 1976, at 8th Ave and 6th Street, in Durango Colorado. The business was moved to its current location in 1986, and with the decision to focus on the sales and service of travel trailers and 5th wheels, the name changed to Tarpley RV.

Our service facility and parts store were added at this time increasing our ability to be of help to our tourist visitors. In 1996 son Brad took over the business when Bill and Dorothy retired.

We have enjoyed four generations of Tarpleys working in the family business. We are very proud of our reputation for doing business in an honest, straightforward manner for thirty five years now. It has always been our sincere intention for our business to be of service to our customers, our employees and their families, our community, and our industry.

We hope to continue doing so for another 35 years, you have our name on it!

The Tarpley Family

Dear Bill,

Both Pat and I would like to thank you for your kindness and consideration when ‘Fred’ broke down on our trip to Denver last month.

We chose to try and to trust Tarpley’s because of your excellent rating from the Good Sam Club and the recommendation we got at the RV Park. Our trust was rewarded with professionalism and honesty (two traits not as common as they should be in today’s world). Were it not for your timely help and your fairness, our trip might have changed from problematic to disastrous.

Thanks again and if you ever get a toothache in Sedona, we owe you one.

Sincerely,

Pat and Joel Kantor

"We wish to thank the sales and service department at Tarpley RV. Our experience has been very positive and satisfying. We love our 28' Cougar 5th wheel. Happy trails!"

PT, Joan, Ginger and Puffy Wade

"I want to thank you for letting me finish my work study program with you. I have learned a lot and have had fun doing so. Especially, I liked working with the technicians. Tarpley RV is a wonderful place to work. Thank you so much for the opportunity."

Michael

Dear Laurie,

We have enjoyed working with you throughout this transaction.

We also want to commend your service department. The day we were leaving, we found two small problems (a water leak and antenna) in the 5th wheel and Mike in the service department arranged for us to bring it in that day and the repairs were completed in less than two hours. We appreciated the service as he had originally said that the service department was booked two weeks out. As soon as we mentioned that we had just bought the 5th wheel in September from Tarpley, there was no hesitation to get us in and on our way the same day.

Please pass this letter onto the service department.

Sincerely,

Betsy & Rick Hubbell

Brad,

Gary and I want to thank you and everyone at Tarpley’s for the terrific was you have treated us during the sale and service (thanks George) of our Tioga. I’m sure we’ll be back again and again. Have a merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
